I was awoken to quite the interesting morning the other day. It began with my alarm going off and my instinctual reaction to shut off the annoying noise. When my body twisted around and I stretched up to turn off the alarm my right calf strained a bit causing it to cramp. This has been known to happen to my calves from time to time and they usually work themselves out after a second or two if I move my foot around. This time it seemed to stick.
I kept trying to move my foot back and forth, but as I did that it seemed to get worse. This muscle spasm just seemed to get more and more intense as if my calf was trying to draw into a singularity. Finally it got so bad I had to leap out of bed. My cat was laying just to the side of me so I had to do a little acrobatic stunt just to get around him cause he’s got me trained to try and not disturb him even though I might be in intense pain. My foot slammed onto the floor over and over again. I flex and release, flex and release, and finally I'm forced to massage it. Nothing seemed to work. Here I am in the dead of night doing the dance of pain hopping up and down on this leg in the hopes that I’ll get some relief.
Finally after several minutes it relaxed. I stood there for a second pissed off at the world, at my job, at everything and I look over. There’s my cat staring at me. The look upon his face was priceless as I’m sure he thought I had lost my mind. I looked at him for a second and then said, "oh shutup", and then proceeded to collapse back onto the bed.
